Renting a professional space is more than just securing a room; it is about accessing a controlled environment where light and space can be manipulated to achieve a specific vision. At Barbevexaxo, we provide a high-specification facility in the heart of Brisbane, designed to accommodate both seasoned professionals and emerging creators. To maintain the integrity of our equipment and ensure a productive atmosphere for all clients, we operate under a strict set of house rules and technical guidelines.

Technical Specifications and Equipment

Our studio is designed for versatility. With a total area of 120 m² and impressive ceiling heights of 4.5 metres, we offer the vertical clearance necessary for overhead lighting rigs and large-scale compositions. The facility features two dedicated halls, each equipped with a professional white cyclorama, providing that seamless, infinite-background look essential for commercial and high-fashion photography.

The lighting inventory is a cornerstone of our rental service. We provide a comprehensive kit including both professional strobe systems for frozen-action precision and continuous LED systems for videographers or those who prefer to see their light in real-time. All rentals include basic modifiers, but we encourage clients to check our equipment list if they require specific grids or beauty dishes.

The House Rules: General Conduct

To keep the studio in pristine condition, we ask all renters to adhere to the following standards. First, the white cyclorama is a sensitive surface. We strictly prohibit the use of heavy, dirty footwear on the curve. We provide disposable shoe covers or request that clients use clean indoor-only shoes to prevent scuffing the paint.

Smoking, vaping, and the use of open flames are strictly prohibited inside the studio. While we provide a private dressing room and makeup station for your talent, please ensure that all makeup spills are cleaned immediately. The use of glitter or confetti is permitted only with prior written consent and may incur an additional cleaning fee.

Category Rule / Provision Note
Footwear Shoe covers mandatory on cyc Prevents paint damage
Equipment Report damage immediately Includes cables and bulbs
Capacity Max 8 persons per hall Ensures safety and flow
Timing Strict start/end times Next bookings may be waiting

Handling and Care of Lighting Gear

Our lighting systems are professional-grade tools that require careful handling. We expect renters to be proficient in the use of the provided strobes and LEDs. If you are unsure about a particular piece of gear, our studio manager, Hamish Johnson, is available for a brief orientation at the start of your session.

Please ensure that all light stands are properly weighted with sandbags, especially when using large modifiers or booms. This is a critical safety requirement to prevent equipment from tipping over. At the end of the session, all gear must be returned to its original position, and cables must be coiled neatly to avoid trip hazards.

Logistics and Access in Brisbane City

Located at 142 Eagle Street, our studio is positioned for maximum accessibility. For those transporting heavy gear or props, we recommend utilizing the secure underground parking available on-site. This removes the stress of searching for street parking in the busy Brisbane City district.

If you are arriving via public transport, we are just a 5-minute walk from the Eagle Street Pier ferry terminal or the Brisbane City Hall bus station. We suggest arriving 10 minutes early to complete the check-in process, ensuring your paid rental time is spent entirely on your creative work.

Booking, Deposits, and Cancellations

To secure your time slot, a 30% deposit is required at the time of booking. We understand that creative schedules can shift; therefore, we allow a free reschedule of your session provided the request is made at least 3 days in advance. Requests made within this window may result in a loss of the deposit.

For B2B clients and agencies, we offer a standard payment term of 14 days following the session. All other rentals are settled upon arrival. Please note that our rental hours are Monday to Friday 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Saturday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
